Fellowship

"Therefore encourage one another and build up each other, as indeed you are doing."   Thessalonians 5:11
Fellowship of Young Families

Fellowship of Families is a group for younger families with children from infants through middle school youth. This group allows the parents to support and connect with one another for Christian fellowship throughout the early years of parenting.

The group holds an event most months and supports various church activities, including fundraising and service. One of the group's most well attended service events is cooking for the Lincoln Park Shelter.

Other service endeavors have included a children's assembly line to create sack lunches for the homeless, making stuffed puppy dogs for Maryville, building bird houses alongside the Solid Rock Carpenters, and spring cleaning for the Sunday school wing.

We also support intergenerational relationships in the congregation by participating in the prayer buddy program, which connects youth to adults for events throughout the year.

We have enjoyed many social gatherings such as family BBQs, holiday parties, visiting the PRCC pumpkin patch, casual lunches after Sunday service, and an adult dinner out at a local restaurant thanks to the babysitting talents of middle and high school youth at PRCC.

We welcome any input for future events and hope to see you at our regular events.

If you would like added to our mailing list or have questions, please contact the planning committee at prccfoyf@gmail.com

Dinner Groups

Dinner groups are small group gatherings and are an opportunity to get to know other PRCC members while socializing over a shared meal.

These groups consist of 6-8 people and are organized annually. Individuals and couples sign up to be part of a group that meets either at a member’s home or at a local restaurant. Each small group decides their own meeting schedule.

Women’s Circles

Park Ridge Community Church has a long history of women being actively involved in the life of the church.  Women’s Circles are small groups of women who meet periodically to engage in service to the church and community as well as to deepen connections with each other. Each circle sets its own goals and programs. They can include a wide variety of projects and purposes.

All women are encouraged to engage in existing circles or form a new circle to meet the changing and challenging needs of today’s women.

Circle 2 meets regularly to encourage each other and to help with the maintenance of the church nursery and Sunday School wing. Circle 2 helps organize the Easter brunch, among other activities.

Circle 8 meets every third Thursday of the month at 1:00 PM. They created the famed “Ped’s Pups”, soft stuffed puppies and supply them for children admitted to the Pediatric Unit of Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge. This group also cares for the outdoor garden at PRCC surrounding the Great Hall.

Circle 10 is a social, service, and philanthropic group open to women of all ages. They typically meets once a month, dates and times dependent on the event or activity. Circle 10 provides a bereavement ministry; providing light refreshments for PRCC members at wakes, when their is a death in their family.Their fundraisers include the annual Spirit of Christmas event and Le Cheap Boutique, a gently used jewelry and accessory sale. Proceeds support bereavement and other PRCC and community needs.

Circle 11 is a Bible study group that meets every Monday at 10:00 AM for 90 minutes. Every session begins with prayers followed by a group topic discussion/Q&A. This group cares for each other and the congregation with prayer support . Members plan and attend a spiritual learning field trip annually and gather socially regularly.

Kindred Spirits

This weekly get-together at lunch time is designed for seniors but all generations are welcome and often are represented.  Kindred Spirits Café is held in the lower level of the church on Tuesdays from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM.

Attendees bring their own brown-bag lunches. The Café provides beverages and delicious, homemade desserts. It’s an informal setting of lightheartedness, laughter, and lunch.

Some individuals attend chair yoga at 10:00 AM upstairs in the Great Hall and then stay for lunch and fellowship.

Periodically guest speakers present topics of interest, birthdays are celebrated and game days are scheduled.

Knitting Knights

Knitting Knights is a community of knitters and crocheters dedicated to creating hand-crafted items, such as prayer shawls, baby items, hats, scarves and much more.

Donations are made to homebound seniors, new members and various organizations that our church partners with:  Maryville Academy, Lincoln Park Community Shelter, the Bridge Project and others.

Knitting Knights meet twice a month in the lower level of the church on Monday nights.  Lessons are offered periodically and yarn is available for take home projects.

Men's Breakfast
